Donating stocks is a great way to give back to the community while also receiving a tax deduction. When you donate stocks that have appreciated in value, you can avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation while still receiving a tax deduction for the full value of the donated securities. Not only do you get to support a worthy cause, like AAS, but you can also save money on taxes.
